Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Life by Design ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service.

Description of service

Life by Design provides AI-powered life coaching, self-assessments, and educational content grounded in Positive Psychology and the Stanford Life Design method. The Service is designed for personal development and is supervised by Dr. Morgan Ellis, a licensed psychologist.

Not a substitute for professional care

The Service is a coaching and educational platform. It is not a licensed mental health service, a crisis intervention service, or a substitute for professional psychological, psychiatric, or medical care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or your local emergency services immediately.

User accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as necessary.

Subscriptions and payments

Paid features are billed on a monthly basis through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Prices are listed in USD and may change with 30 days' notice.

Intellectual property

All content on Life by Design — including articles, assessments, AI coaching methodology, and design — is the intellectual property of Life by Design and Dr. Morgan Ellis. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission. Your assessment results and personal data remain yours.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to access other users' data, reverse-engineering the AI system, using the Service for any illegal purpose, or submitting content that is harmful, abusive, or violates others' rights.

Limitation of liability

Life by Design is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
